Homeless Prevention

Dundalk Simon’s Daycentre has a reputation for building trust and working creatively to address problems. The inputs that Daycentre staff provide are highly effective homelessness prevention interventions as they involve both practical and emotional help to people who are homeless, or who are housed but isolated and have no other support network. Support offered includes linking clients into statutory and community services, accompanying them to appointments, advocating for services and resources on their behalf, helping them manage everyday tasks that many people take for granted such as completing forms or paying bills, and supporting those with serious personal and behaviour problems who have fallen through the net and are not receiving help from mainstream community care services.
