Helping Our Homeless – A Gift for Schools
In partnership with author Vincent Butler, Dundalk Simon have launched a GoFundMe fundraiser appeal ‘Helping Our Homeless – A Gift for Schools’.
For every €20 raised through donations, Dundalk Simon will gift a copy of Vincent Butler’s captivating book Sixty Photographs for Simon to a school in our area as a valuable teaching resource. Information rich, this hardback coffee table-style book is brim-full of material ideal for projects and classwork. It contains 60 photographs in a broad geographical sweep stretching from the Arctic to Antarctic covering a wide spectrum of subjects. Images include stunning landscape vistas, cultural compositions, and captivating wildlife encounters.
There are 255 schools in counties Louth, Cavan and Monaghan and we are hoping to gift a copy to every single one of them. Your donations will not only support Dundalk Simon in their work with people experiencing homelessness in these three counties but will also help our young scholars who have recently experienced much hardship, uncertainty, and disruption due to the COVID crisis.
Every Euro counts. No donation is too small! The Sahara Desert covers an area of around 3.5 million square miles. It began with a single grain of sand!
100% of donations made through this GoFundMe page will go directly towards supporting Dundalk Simon Community’s vital services. You can donate here.
An ideal Christmas gift, copies of Sixty Photographs for Simon can be purchased for €20 online at the link below. Or why not avail of An Post’s freepost facility and gift a copy of the book as a gesture of gratitude to a Nursing Home or Care Centre where a loved one is being cared for. The book will certainly be a pleasant distraction for residents and staff alike in these extremely unsettling times of lockdowns and consequent separation. A wonderful early Christmas present for sure! All proceeds will be donated directly to Dundalk Simon. https://irishacademicpress.ie/product/sixty-photographs-for-simon/
