Helping Our Homeless – A Gift for Schools
Dundalk Simon Community is delighted to partner with author Vincent Butler on his book ‘Sixty Photos for Simon’.
Dundalk Simon Community provide safe, supportive shelter and services for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. More than a place to stay, today we provide 24/7 emergency accommodation, crisis shelter, transitional and social housing, along with comprehensive day centre services.
For every €20 raised through donations to this fund, the Simon Community will gift a copy of Vincent Butler’s captivating book ‘Sixty Photographs for Simon’ to a school. The book contains 60 photographs including stunning landscape vistas, intimate cultural vignettes and captivating wildlife encounters. Some 25 countries are represented in a broad geographical sweep from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Information rich, the book is a valuable teaching resource brim-full of material for projects and classwork. There are 4,016 schools countrywide and we are hoping to gift a copy to every single one of them. Your donations will not only support the work of the Simon Community with the homeless in your area but also help our young scholars who have recently experienced much hardship, uncertainty and disruption due to the COVID crisis.
Every Euro counts. No donation is too small! The Sahara Desert covers an area of around 3.5 million square miles. It began with a single grain of sand!
